It is illegal to give inpatient medications to the patient to take home.

We don't use APNO in the hospital very much, but when we have used it we did
it this way.  The OB  writtes a prescription that the Dad or family fills at
an outside pharmacy.  They bring the APNO for the mom to use as a medication
from home.  Then she takes it when she leaves.
