Maybe the mom who read the article that scared her by writing that a *small
study* indicated that *breastfeeding with breast implants caused cancer of
the esophagus* will be able to calm down. Scary articles are so exciting!

Reading and interpreting research can be interesting. A *small study* can be
assumed to be less valid than a study with a larger number of cases and
better controls. There is also a BIG difference between cause and
correlation. Dr. Dean Edell frequently mentions that most of the people who
die have eaten carrots in the past month.

Babies are frequently given Mylicon drops for gas. This medicine contains a
silicone compound as an antifoaming agent (to break up the gas bubbles).

LLLI has a pamphlet about breastfeeding and breast implants which may offer
some reassurance.
