Dear Friends:
     A Gerber representative made the rounds here in the Philadelphia area
about a year ago. When she called me, I asked her if Gerber was WHO Code
Compliant. She said she didn't know what the WHO Code was, that I was the first LC to
ever mention it, and of course Gerber is a good guy as they have been around
for 75 years and are endorsed by the AAP (the same AAP that receives money
from industry).
     I posted our conversation to our local ILCA-affiliate. She had contacted
lots of us. She had been asked about the WHO by many people. There were also
a few people that had met with her, and some that were sympathetic.
     She didn't offer any money. She asked straight out if I would recommend
Gerber products (of which she would give me plenty of free samples) to my
clients.
     Many of us wondered how she got our home telephone numbers...
