I'm sorry I can't give you an exact, written protocol backed up with sound
evidence, but yesterday I was talking (or rather mailing) with someone about
this and was thinking that lansinoh/purelan should probably not be used if a
mother or baby has thrush. My reasoning was that it forms a barrier over the
skin and could thus prevent efficient washing away of the yeast as described
recently on Lacnet. I have some in house and my oldest uses it sometimes
when its cold to prevent dry lips, his says it stays on his lips a very long
time (as compared to the usual lip zalfs). I understand lansinoh/purlelaan
is meant to let the skin breath, but I'm sure it would breath better without
it.

Just wondering, I'm sure the more experienced will come up with a good
answer.
