heck, winnie, i used to be an editor in a former life. there is a
professional way to fix that in current editions, too. grasp the spine of the
book in one's left hand (if you are right handed; otherwise, reverse
directions). grasp incorrect and possibly dangerous pages in right hand. turn
down the corner of the pages towards the center of the book. now, holding
tight, give a quick, sharp rip downward. usually you will find that all the
pages have now been corrected.

also, practice makes this "latching on to incorrect material and breaking the
latch" much easier, quicker and more effective.
