No criticism intended but the paper misquoted him on that one.

The comment according to the Washington Post (I didn't read it myself,
but Rush read it on the air and it agreed with what was posted here):

>'If Susan (Molinari) could have breast-fed that
>kid last night, we might have picked up some electoral votes in California.'

What he _really_ said:

'If the dad could have breast-fed that kid last night, we might have
picked up some electoral votes in California.'

I heard both the strange comment (don't quite know where he was going
with that one, although I have my theories, he didn't expound on it, so
they are just _my_ theories and probably have no useful breastfeeding
information to others on this list) and his reaction to being quoted
incorrectly by the Washington Post. He was rather upset and felt the
paper should apologize to Susan Molinari. Since that is an unlikely
scenario, he said he was faxing his own apology to her, saying he, of
course, never said _anything_ about her nursing her daughter on
television.

Proof, yet again, that the press doesn't always get it right

Now I did keep wondering as they zoomed in on the baby being given that
bottle of water (or so I assume, it was clear), whether or not she was
nursing her baby. I can understand her trying to keep her baby content
while giving her speech, but it bugged me to watch that baby bottle feed.
Knowing she's a breastfed baby might alleviate my annoyance.
