You might ask the Mom if she has a history of or symptoms of a vaginal yeast
infection that she may have spread to her nipples; was it really the swimming
or has she been lounging at the pool or beach in a wet bathingsuit? We see
this here in Florida. My first experience with it was when I worked with my
son's swim coach some years back. She and baby had yeast almost immediately after
her son was born. She reported red, angry, nipples through most of her
pregnancy and very frequent vaginal yeast all her
swim-coaching-long-hours-in-a-damp-bathing-suit-life.
Just a thought.
