Lisa, you said it so beautifully.I try to do everything you mentioned and you
are so right!These soft, understanding,LISTENING,caring approaches seem to
work every time.I have actually been amazed at how validating a mother's
struggle in the face of her quitting has given her the strength and belief
that she is strong and can continue another day or two with
breastfeeding.Sometimes this is all it takes to succeed.
I have been off from work for 3 months with unbelievable hyperemesis and just
returned this week to our weekly support group only to be delighted beyond
belief at two extraordinary mothers who I worked with for about two weeks
right before I left.They were both tearful, as was I.I never believed they
would persevere, but here they were with two  3 1/2 month olds smiling and
breastfeeding all the time now..
The rewards are so great and surprise me all the time!  Anne W.
