Veronica--I have implants and I am nursing my 22-month-old daughter and I am
34 weeks pregnant!! Other than right after my daughter's birth I never had
any issue with mastitis. However, I do agree with other posters about
finding another doctor. Maybe a D.O.?? Another choice could be to go into
the ER. They should just take blood and when her WBC comes back elevated
from the infection she can get a perscription. She might not even mention
the implants in that case. It's not like she is going to have an ongoing
relationship with that doctor or anything and it's really quite irrelevant.
I know of several moms without implants who have had mastitis way more
frequently than this woman. ----Christina Costa, LLLL, Broward County, FL
