Thank you all for your comments they are heartfelt and appreciated.  
We are getting there.
Mom called baby's Pedi to get in to the office a day earlier for the  
wt check (we thought we
saw a 2oz increase overnight and she wanted it verified) and for  
tongue tie referral. We got
both.  She has an appt with an ENT today at 2:30, if it's not an in  
office procedure we'll opt
for a different MD as I found someone that will also do it in office,  
just not as close a location.
Mom is pumping about a half ounce after baby feeds (most feeds) and  
feeding it to him via
finger feeder IF he seems to be asking for more and is not content  
after a feeding. She also
is using donor milk in very small amounts as needed :-) as they opted  
for that over formula
thanks to a wonderful gift from an LC friend.

We also worked quite directly on the emotional issues.  I sat down  
and had a heart to heart
with her (with some tears on both sides). I made it clear to her that  
although I was an LC this was her baby
and she could feed it as she pleased and didn't have to breastfeed to  
please ME. That I would
love her and the baby regardless of how the baby is fed.  Just saying  
that outloud seemed to
take off some of the pressure and she assured me she was  
breastfeeding because it was
what she wanted to do. She felt frustrated because so many of her  
friends had "huge" milk
supplies and wasted it deciding not to breastfeed and now she wanted  
to and had such little
milk. I feel so sad that her whole new mom experience is somehow  
damaged by the stress of
this situation but perhaps it will be seen in the future that she  
fought for the best for her baby.

I will go on record however in saying that a healthy full term baby  
needs to be gaining wt and
not just maintaining. No science, no evidence...just gut.  It is the  
job of baby's to grow and
develop, perhaps not on OUR schedule but at least to gain  
something...and to be fed. This was not a
happy content baby, he was anxious and continually looking for food,  
it's needs were not being met.
When we provided the little (.5oz to 1oz) extra we had a different  
baby, more relaxed, not constantly
fussing and putting his whole fist in his mouth...and then mom  
relaxed too, both mom and baby's unfurrowed
brow line was a welcome site :-) He still almost continually plays  
with his tongue, you can tell he's
frustrated that he can't move it the way he wants to. Hopefully that  
will be resolved today and we
can focus exclusively on building moms supply and confidence.
