I have amom who is seeking help with PPD. She saw a psychiatrist who told
her that any medication that would be safe for nursing (ie Zoloft) would be
prescribed in such small amounts that it would not help the PPD. Further,
that the info on this drug and others is not favorable when reveiwed for its
effect on children by age 5. This is not what I have understood to be the
case. Her Dr. also suggested Prozac and Depakote.

I need info on all these meds, their safety and effectiveness short and long
term. This mother does not want to wean and would consider weaning to be a
devistating loss. (Please note that last year, in our town, a woman
suffering from PPD murdered her children and attempted suicide. Perhaps
this Dr. is just jumpy and being very aggressive.)

You can email me privately.

Many thanks,
Joanne McCrory
