Jeanne, my favorite OB/GYN , Christiane Northrup, talks about Breast Pain in
her book, Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom. She is a holistic , alternative MD
as well as a Western trained traditional OB/GYN. She speaks about breasts as
being the physical metaphor for giving and receiving . If there is an
imbalance in this area , the breasts often physically manifest to let us know
we need to address this imbalance. It is my guess that if everything physical
has been ruled out by a reputable MD , maybe her baby going with the father
could bring up some giving and receiving issues. In her book she tells a
story about a patient who came to her with cysts in her right breasts
appearing overnight when her grown daughter was scheduled to leave for
college. The night before the patient had dreamt she was breastfeeding her
baby daughter again and when Christiane aspirated the lumps/cysts, they were
full of breastmilk. Pretty amazing , the human body....Lisa Mooney, RN, BSN
