<< Yes, I know the story - Pat & Peggy Loyd were good friends of ours back in
the 70's, and Peggy was my first LLL Leader. Pat modified a hand-help vacuum
pump - possibly the same one Carol described - to create the Loyd-B breast
pump. The first model used baby food jars as the collection containers. >>

Thanks for the background. It sounds like this pump was developed a long time
ago with good intentions. The fact that it doesn't match some of the good
pumps available today shouldn't put it in a "bad pump" category. Wooden legs were
the first prostheses, and although there are better materials, more
comfortable suspensions, and better surgical techniques for better functional outcomes,
we can still be grateful that pioneers saw a need, and took up the challenge
to help the people they could in the best way they could.
Thanks again Linda, very educational day on LN...:)
