I have a new patient who switched to me because her doctor told her that if
she continued to nurse her two year old child while pregnant she would need
a blood transfusion after her new baby was born. :-(

At least she was aware enough that she hunted down other sources of info
and realized that this wasn't true and now has changed doctors.

I would like to send him some articles to read if there are any on this
topic that are recommended. I think he may prefer studies etc. to less
scientific sources but anything would be helpful.

I now feel I need to modify my ideas re: ignorance and stupidity. I said
before that "Ignorance is not a problem... Stupidity is." I think I need to
add that ignorance *is* a problem if you don't know you are ignorant and
you are in a position of giving people advice.

Trying my best to become unignorant. There is so much to learn!
