I am one of the world's strongest opponents of drugs in laboring women--meaning drugs in the bodies of newborn babies and a drugged experience of the world and mom. But, the mechanics of a vacuum extraction is trauma pure and simple. When a baby with a completely disorganized or even absent suckle can begins suckling after just one chiropractic or CST adjustment, I do not think we can legitimately view drugs as the only culprits. IMO, if a baby has had a traumatic birth, that baby needs an adjustment!!!
