I remember someone once said on Lactnet that eating watermelon would help
mums who had severe postpartum edema.

I remember sharing this with a couple. She had severe edema, especially in
her lower legs and ankles. I had just recommended cabbage leaves for her
breasts. I said that watermelon might be helpful for her swelling. The poor
dad thought she should then put watermelons on her feet. A logical
assumption after I had just explained the cabbage. I had a good laugh with
them about that one. Kept imagining this poor mum walking around with a
watermelon on each foot like slippers.
