I have not as yet received a letter back in response to my letter. Perhaps
they will only respond to their members?

I do not believe any explanation will be forthcoming, and I agree that if
someone there did know before hand, they exercised extremely poor ethical
judgement. If they did not know, they certainly should have.  There really
is no excuse for this one.
