Reading one of the posts today brought to mind something that happened to my
sister last month. She has breastfed 2 babies while working full-time, and
even donating a lot of milk to her sister-in-law's baby at the same time.

She was transferred from the USA to Canada between babies, but still keeps
in touch with the women she worked with over the years. One of the women in
the USA branch emailed her the other day to ask her a question as she
remembered my sister pumping for 18 months with her first child.

The co-worker apologized for the weird question and oddness of it and
proceeded to ask a breastfeeding question related to a working mother. My
sister emailed back saying that there was nothing weird about the question
as they were both breastfeeding mothers, but that if one of the men had
asked her that question, well, then it would be weird.

I share this, as I have been very impressed how this sister has helped other
women she works with realize that breastfeeding is NORMAL, and that you can
work, travel, and be a breastfeeding mom all at the same time. I wish that
more mothers would see this too. I live in a town with 2 universities and
the breastfeeding rates are sad. Afterall, I'm going back to school
full-time (or work) so I HAVE to change to formula when that happens. Ugh.
