Just curious how often anyone else presents this as an option.
Years ago, I saw a mom 4 days postpartum with horrible nipple damage and
very sore breasts. Mom and dad had decided (on their own) that dad
breastfeeding would be the cure to her engorgement. Of course he had teeth
(!) and had decided to turn on his vacuum power up to full strength to suck
the milk out of her breasts. I had her pump for a few days because she
couldn't stand putting the baby to breast. Breastfeeding went fine after
that. (And I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but parents
were from rural Mexico.)
