Hi Vicky -

CDC funds studies to evaluate effectiveness of various interventions
aimed at increasing breastfeeding. You might wish to consider applying
for this funding next year. The current cycle of applications has
closed, but it will re-open next March. I sent an announcement to
Lactnet this year when it was available, and plan on doing so next year
as well. These funds may not be used for implementation of
interventions, they are to fund evaluation of already-existing and/or
otherwise-funded interventions.

You might also be interested in the existing Cochrane Report
demonstrating the various outcomes of continuous labor support, some of
which have postpartum doulas as part of their intervention. If you
visit the website of the Maternity Center Association at
maternitywise.org you can download it for free.

Sincerely,

Katherine

can anyone tell me how to go about doing and publishing a survey re: the
impact of postpartum doulas on breastfeeding outcomes? You can reply to
me privately if this is not of interest to the group. Vicky York
