I'm preparing an advocacy statement for a three day old baby. Born at
35 weeks gestation, via emergency c-section. Baby doing fine,
breastfeeding established.

Social Services plan to remove baby until mother and baby unit place
open up... in June. Reason is that mother is 16 years old, and was
raised in care herself. Will be meeting to decide to remove baby,
tomorrow.

Does anyone have any pithy quotes from some nice recent research, about
the additional need to retain mother-to-baby contact and exclusive
breastfeeding at 35 weeks gestation?

Many thanks

Morgan Gallagher
