In my informal research :-) I rarely see an exclusively BF baby with eczema.
If I do, then I say what was said to me 42 years ago by the allergist " I
wouldn't even want him(my allergic son) for a patient if you weren't BF."
Eczema is usually a sign of more to come (like wheezing). In highly
allergic families it's not if, it's when. Locally an allergist tried to
talk a mom of one of my patients into weaning (I can't remember his
reasoning, it was several years ago-just know it wasn't valid:-) Mom told
him I can't wean, Pat will kill me :-) We held his wheezing off for a year
and even now he is not as bad as his 2 older sisters, who are severe
asthmatics and bottlefed. I wish I had time and resources to do real
research. The study Jaye referred to is a true example of non research.
