Hi All,

I just got a call from a worried sister of a new mom (baby #7) who had the
following situation occur:

Mom was standing in line to fill out some paperwork - 3wk old baby started
crying. Lady behind her (who spoke broken English) asked if she needed help
- could she hold the baby and calm her? Mom said OK.but wasn't super comfy
with it. The woman asked how baby was being fed. Mom pointed to her own
breast. She turned around to finish filling out the paperwork and then
realized the baby was quiet. She turned to see and found, to her horror,
the other woman nursing her baby! Of course she freaked.

The other woman appeared to be healthy, had a healthy looking 7 month old
with her. So the sister gets on the internet and finds me asking what bad
things can be transferred through breastmilk. We talked about HIV and the
Hep's.and I recommended that they talk to the Ped right away and look into
some blood work to be sure all is well. I also told her that it was
unlikely that there would be a problem as women are tested to the gills for
all these things while pregnant.

They are located in Center, TX and I want to help them out by finding them
someone closer than me (I'm in California.) who can help this mom as she
also is having some supply issues. So - anyone out there?? If so please
e-mail me privately.

Thanks in advance!

Warmly,

Jaye
