I loved Alla's last post about the realities of adoption, pregnancy, and
breastfeeding for the mother. BFg is not something that can be evaluated
in isolation. It is part of a woman's life.

Indeed, the post is all about **mother-centered care:** The offering of
information, advice, support, finding Plan B, meeting the mother where she
is, discussing risks-and-benefits of BFg while pregnant, use of a bottle,
use of supplements.

You'll get no flames from me. As lactation professionals, we are ethically
bound to practice while understanding that those breasts making that
magical milk are attached to a WOMAN. Her history, physical condition,
goals, stamina, family situation, resources and infant-feeding goals ALL
have to be considered when fashioning a care plan, which is supposed to be
individually crafted *with* the mother.
