Linda,
This is a pet peeve of mine as well, that breast cancer prevvention articles
never mention breastfeeding. I recently received a newsletter from a local
hosp which was until 5-7 years ago the site of NY's milk bank. The lead
article was on breast cancer and their was not a word about bf. Another
article on osteoporosis stressed hormone replacement therapy, but never
mentioned better bone mass in bf children, and in women who bf (after
weaning). There really seems to be a conspiracy to not mention things that
the medical-pharmaceutical-industrial complex cannot market and control. What
a disempowering system. Argh! We "radicals" have to keep screaming the truth
from the rooftops! One ray of hope- the NY Times often has complimentary
articles about breastfeeding.
