As a lactation consultant, in a rural hospital, I have been asked by
Administration for my views on employing a certified lactation educator who
is not licensed in any medical field (lay). The other consultant in our
hospital (there are only 4 in the entire county) will be on pregnancy leave
and someone thought the educator may be able to do in-house rounds during
that time. It would entail a new position and job description. I came from a
milieu that required licensing for those making these rounds, but I would
like to hear from anyone who has had experience with this sort of situation.
I will look for your responses on the List and you can e-mail me privately
at <[log in to unmask]> Thanks a head of time, Maureen
