Phenazopyridine is an urinary antiseptic/acidfier.  There is apparently no
breastfeeding information available, but it should not pose a problem.  The
mother should maintain her fluid levels and expect her urine to be colored red
(I would assume that if the baby was getting enough of the drug in breastmilk
that the baby's urine would also turn red-hypothetically a good indicator to
monitor).

Ciprofloxacin data in breastmilk and breastfeeding is quite variable.  The drug
appears to be safer for use during breastfeeding than not breastfeeding and
using artificial milk (I think that is the position that Dr. Newman takes also).
Of course, the mother needs to know the risks/benefits and make the decision to
use it or not.  Also, there should be other alternatives available with which
the mother might feel more comfortable.
