For those interested in further discussion on the
issue of congenital disorders and how we think/talk
about them in our society, I recommend the
book "Prenatal Testing and Disability Rights" edited
by Erik Parens and Adrienne Asch.
It is a fascinating set of articles written by people
in the disability rights movement addressing the ethical
issues of prenatal testing via a vis disability. Some of
the articles are based on research others are personal
stories. A worthwhile book.
