I find this theory (that the mother's
gut health affects her milk supply and baby's gut health) to be
compelling.

Dear Friends:
I've been working for a long time with dyads, both as a lactation
consultant and as a nurse. I've noticed an increase in the numbers of exclusively
breastfed babies with reflux and with other GI problems. I never saw a baby with
reflux when I started; now it seems as though every 3rd or 4th baby I see or
hear about has it. Some very severely too, enough to be very ill.
This year so far I have worked with 3 babies, exclusively breastfed, that
are unable to poop without pain and effort.
My own two daughters, one bfd for 3+ years and the other for 5.5, both
have GI motility problems that have been tracing to mercury toxicity and
environmental sensitivities.
    Has anyone else noticed this?
    warmly,
