It looks like a nipple shield to me!  If it is worn during nursing I would
assume it would decrease the stimulation the mother receives, even if it
were very thin, I would have concerns.  Would you ask the mom to pump while
using it?  I doubt that would go over well. It just doesn't look like
something I would recommend.
