Jack, % wt loss is just a factoid, to store in the general list of info,
which includes: How is the baby BFing?
frequency? output? How does the baby look? How is mom's supply developing?
fullness, leaking etc.? What has been going on around birth (IVs,
epidurals, illness and so on)

Scale to scale info is misleading and I have personally seen weights
written totally incorrectly. 5, 7, 10% who knows what % is physiologic?
Was the birth physiologic? I doubt it. Was the baby separated from mom,
I'm sure of it.

"I cannot believe that lactation consultants are basing practice on %
weight loss. This is pseudoscience." I agree! Nobody really knows if a
baby loses or not after birth or how much is "normal". Home born babies
don't seem to - in my experience. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
