I have been an avid reader, but not a writer for over a year. I have my first
question: I have a client who's baby is due on Christmas Day. The mom has
ulcerative colitis, and is taking Prednisone (3mg per day). I assume since
she is taking it prenatally, that it is safe for the baby. The mom is
concerned that the medication will be increased after the baby is born, and
she will be told she cannot nurse. This is what occurred with her first
child. What level is safe for breastfeeding, and at what time is it good to
take the medication in relation to feeding times?
