The only "study" I have is of my 3 children. All 3 were exclusively human milk fed for at least 6 months and I worked full time nights. My dh was my biggest supporter and through the years has given me his excellent views of bottles, pacifiers, and feeding expressed milk.

One time, after bringing my daughter up to my work so I could breastfeed her on my break, he remarked, "Now I get to take a calm baby home again." I asked him what did he mean. He told me how much calmer our baby was after she breastfed as opposed to being given expressed milk at home with a bottle. He said he preferred to bring her up to me for that reason. I always thought it was because he got a little break and he was calmer, thereby making the baby calm down. But he strictly believed it was the act of nursing.
