HI All,
OK, here is my .02.
PJ was a home birth, and my midwives and I talked a lot about the Vit K
"thing". Final recomendation from them, give it. But, I did not want him
to have a shot for a variety of reasons (mainly, I think, because I did not
want hiom to have to get stuck). So on day 2, we gave PJ an oral vit K,
which tasted pretty bad. (I tasted a bit...nasty stuff). He didn't like it
one bit, but went to breast immed., and did fine. I think he was just glad
to get that awful taste out of his mouth. Looking back, I think that I
probaby should have just let him be stuck really quick and get it done and
over with, rather than have that icky oral experience. (but then again, I
was still in a fog from delivery). SO I guess I agree with Jack, one stick,
no big deal.
