Has anyone heard of a connection between breastfeeding and Lupus? A mother
who has been breastfeeding her one-year-old healthy baby was told to wean due
to "Lupus-like" symptoms she is experiencing. ( Mom is only nursing twice a
day.) The mom thinks the doctor said the condition would resolve upon
weaning.

Dr. Lawrence states on page 512 that women with systemic lupus erythematosus
(SLE) have elevated prolactin levels. She also talks about medications for tx
of SLE, some of which may require weaning. Any suggestions other then mom see
an endocrinologist/rheumatologist for second opinion?
Thanks !
