I've found it to be true with my peers. On a monthly mailing list for
pregnant moms due Feb 96 which is still together, 20% of the 75 moms are
pregnant again, most with their second baby. All of the moms that had
early weaning/problem caused are asking for more information from myself
and a LLL leader as well as planning to attend several BF classes and
generally read more on the subject. It is our current hot topic in a group
of parents to nearly 2 yr olds. I've told them to ask about anything that
pops into their mind, to try and get their family to be more supportive of
breastfeeding ahead of time, and to find other local nursing moms (LLL) so
they can have the positive peer pressure. It's been truely heartening to
see them speak this way, but disheartening to see them usually add, "I know
that if it doesn't work out that she will be okay with the formula, but I
will try harder". :( I wish they were as adamant at making breastfeeding
work as they are about having the birth go the way they want.

turn the worthy parents into complete idiots when without him, they would
perhaps have remained mere imbeciles." George Courteline
