Very interesting to see how many versions of this there are!
Here is the shorter one I am familiar with:
"Imagine that the world had created a new 'dream product' to feed and
immunize everyone born on earth.
Imagine also that it was available everywhere, required no storage or
delivery, and helped mothers plan their families and reduce the risk of cancer.
Then imagine that the world refused to use it."
I saw this attributed to Dr. Frank Oski.
In my eyes it's perfect as it is. It's meant to provide a particular kind
of jolt to the reader, by *not* presenting breastfeeding as the existing
physiological norm.
I have typed it up in pretty colors/fonts etc. and use it as an overhead in
my prenatal breastfeeding class.
