I am familiar with the raw foods movement. There is a Christian minister
giving lectures around here (Tennessee) with wonderful claims of cancer etc.
cures obtained with using raw foods. They use a juicer to extract from
carrots, organically grown vegies, some bread. No dairy or meats. There is
a publication used "Back to the Garden" to which I subscribe. The most
interesting part of his lecture is this: The most basic and important
nutritional foundation is breastfeeding. All infants should be breastfed a
minimum of two years. Raw foods and juices are added as they are
developmentally ready and is child-led. The parents must already be into
the raw foods themselves. They also supplement with barley green extract.
They have a book store where Frank Oskie's "Don't Drink Your Milk" is sold.
I have this book and have used some recommendations with my asthmatic,
non-breastfed step-daughter. The best thing to come of this is all my church
friends that believe I am so kind of fanatic about breastfeeding are now
saying: "You are right. Please help us breastfeed our babies." I take
whatever help I get from whatever corner it comes.
                                                 Thanks,
