Yes indeedy.  My parents did not have us in their bed when we were babies,
and my mother has often queried how my sister and I can stand the nighttime
interruptions from our babies/toddlers.  Yet my parents recount with pride
all the times their cats show up and walk across the bed with muddy paws at
3 AM or deposit a gory chipmunk where it will greet the toes of the first
person to leave the bed.  Furthermore, though my mother is quite allergic
to these same cats, they sleep on her pillow any time they so desire.

As you say, go figure.
