Greetings all.. I recently had the opportunity to preview a new video
from the Vida company in Cambridge, MA. The preview is free, so I
thought I'd pass my impressions on to those of you who might be
interested.

This is a 1998 video, called the Why Do (tape 1) How To, Can Do (tape 2)
Video. I believe it is a very well-done set, using families of
different races, different ages. The format was entertaining and
informative with a mix of close-ups (tastefully done) and cartoon
figures to introduce a secton or make a point. Part 1 seems appropriate
to show to motivate and educate students, staff, expectant parents, etc.
Part 2 is (as it states) the "how-to" video. Lactation Consultants are
pictured working with families in hospital and at home. Information is
given on where to get help, inc. LLL, ILCA, etc.
The video is sponsored by Motherwear so there are "commercials" at the
beginning and end. I did't find them objectionable at all. The video
was done in Massachussetts.... using several hospitals for a variety of
settings.

Has anyone else seen these videos? I'm putting them on my wish list
(esp. part 2), but they are a bit pricey. I showed Part 2 to our
patients several times while I had the set, and all gave good reviews.
One couple are both professors in the Media/AV Dept at our local
University and they suggested I purchase the video as, in their
opinions, it is an extremely well done piece of work.

This is the kind of video I'd ike to have shown to all Moms when I'm on
vacation!

Pease e-mail me privately if you'd like more specific information.
