I want to emphasize Jan's point--anyone can get sued for anything, and
usually anyone around will be named in a lawsuit. My SIL, a RN, has been
named in a couple and is always dismisssed as a defendant--she just
happened to be around and was named with the docs, the other nurses and
the hospital. It happens to my clients too. A child with a complaint
will file suit not only against the school district, but the
superintendent, principal, Jane/John Does, etc. It may or may not be
necessary to do so from a legal standpoint.

Melissa Kirsch, in the JD capacity.
