Interesting that someone prefers Lawrence (a heavy read in my opinion) to
Hale for public library. I think Hale is ideal for quick info in an easily
accessible form for parents. I am a die hard consumer advocate. Plus Hale
is more frequently up-dated and lots less expensive than Lawrence. I will
also say that I think Hale's new book on common treatments for common
conditions is also very consumer friendly. Patients today can access all
sorts of info, right or wrong on the internet. I think it is important
that reputable resources be readily available to consumers on their own
health care. We know they are going to question and check anyway. It only
serves to make the HCP more responsive to the patient's needs and wants.
The days of "take this dear and don't nurse" are rapidly disappearing
(Thank God) Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
