A mother with complete heart block birthed spontaneously last week, thank
goodness, with no problems. In 6 weeks she will be fitted with a pacemaker.

1] Are there are any radiation risks, in relation with the guided endoscopy
process for the insertion of the pacemaker?
2] Are there any concerns for ongoing breastfeeding, with a pacemaker?

I am not concerned about the anaesthetic as it is a quick procedure - the
mother has asked about the radiation part.

Thanks in anticipation,

Cath Williams RM IBCLC
