I am posting this for a breastfeeding counselor who got this question. The
mother is pregnant with her second child. With the first one, who is now 6
years old, she had what she described as "stinging breast and nipple pain" in
one side only. She was unable to feed on that side, but was able to pump,
until around 7-8 months, at which time the pain subsided to the point that she
could nurse on that breast. The counselor did not know whether the mother had
been treated for yeast or had sought any treatment for the soreness. Now, at
7 months pregnant, the pain is returning. She can't remember if it's the same
side or not. Any ideas? Please respond to me privately since I am nomail.
Thanks for any info. Miriam Levitt RN, IBCLC <[log in to unmask]>
