Gillian, I would send your mom to Susan Loves web site (sorry don't have the
exact address but if you did a search on her it would come up).
She has a section for women to write in questions and this may be helpful.
The development of the fistula post surgery is something that the surgeon
should have known as a possible complication.
I hope she does not totally wean.
