The mother of a two year old, who still nurses frequently, has Crohn's
disease. After being controlled by breastfeeding-compatible drugs for
years, she just had a bad flare up. He doctor wants to give her a new
drug called Remicade, aka Infleximab. This is a monoclonal antibody,
which is given by injection in one dose of 5g per Kg. It is considered to
be experimental, and so there is not a whole lot of info about it. The
drug company recommendation is that the mother either stops nursing or
doesn't take the drug.
I need info on how long the drug stays in the mother's body. She would be
willing to wean temporarily, but would like to resume nursing later if
that is possible. She is in a very weak condition right now, so this
request is urgent.

Many thanks!
