I am posting this question for our hospital's nutrition department. They are the "gatekeepers" and bill payers for our donor milk program. Right now we offer donor milk to patients who meet medical criteria. The criteria is written with some leeway to give the ordering providers some flexibility.

They posed this question to us and I'm wondering if any of you would be willing to share what your hospital is doing:

"Do you know if other hospitals are still only offering certified donor milk to patients with medical necessity or are they offering donor milk to all patients (i.e. adopted babies, SMA families, babies with moms that have low supply)?"

If you prefer, you can email me off list at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Thanks so much!
