Julie,
Are her nipples sore when she pumps as well as when she nurses?
Have you tried APNO?  Maybe she's just one of those with highly
sensitive nipples?  Sorry more questions than answers.

Subject: 3 month old and persistent sore red nipples

I need your opinion on this hard case. I saw this mom 10-11 weeks ago

sore nipples. No trauma other than redness.
