We had just that problem here in Puerto Rico, we have so few leaders and
some refuse to take call, so the biggest job (answering phone calls) falls
on the fewest people I´ve ever seen in all the 5 states and 21 years I´ve
been an LLLLeader. One of our leaders stated she had 2,500 hours of
contact in less than the usually expected 5 years. She was asked to
provide evidence, so she copied her logs (over $75 I think it cost her).
She often has moms come to see her, even has had ¨SNS Support groups¨ meet
in her home when she had 2 or 3 moms trying to relactate or induce
lactation at the same time.

She could neither afford to go to the US nor the correspondence courses, so
she got her credits with the correspondence sessions available through
ILCA, plus she practically re-wrote (note-taking) and translated to spanish
pages and pages of Auerbach, Lawrence, Lauers, and any other material I got
to her.

She passed the boards with flying colors, and I think she´s much better
qualified than I was when I originally passed my boards in 1985.

Please allow for flexibility knowing that not everyone in Lactation has the
easy availability of conferences, courses and cash!
