My husband and I had the TV on today watching Fox News while we ate lunch.
A report came on in a lawyer's segment (that was one of the 3 women on the
segment). The report was on women's right's to breastfeed in public. They did
mention "The View" and the nurse-in at ABC. One of the guest was a young
woman who argued that she did not want to have to watch a woman breastfeed in
front of her and compared it to not wanting to have to watch a pap smear done
in public. She said both were important but not in public. The other woman
was laughing through out this woman's comments and then made some very good
points on why there should be legal protection for women to breastfeed their
babies where ever they need to. The lawyer who was moderating the discussion
seemed to be favoring breastfeeding in public. The lawyer also agreed that
any language regarding what is "discreet" is a bad idea.

As my husband watched this and I filled him about Barbara Walter's comments
and then her back peddling trying to say it was the man sitting next to her
that was uncomfortable. My husband said that if he were the man sitting on
that plane he would come forward and point out how Barbara is lying.
My husband also said that all this public attention to breastfeeding is
good. I totally agree.
